The Distinguished Lecture Series Committee (DLS) is responsible for every aspect of the seven to ten lectures each academic year. We run an on-going nomination process in which all of the UW-Madison campus has the opportunity to nominate speakers of their choice. We have weekly meetings in which we discuss and decide upon future speakers to pursue. We work together to promote, prepare, and execute each lecture (and then we get to sit up front).
We do everything from gathering sponsors and booking hotel rooms for the speakers, to picking up the speakers at the airport and then having dinner with them. This committee is entirely owned and operated by the students - in other words, WE DO IT ALL.
Members of this committee have the unique opportunity to closely interact with some really extraordinary lecturers. Don't miss out!
