Assorted Recollection
Tyanna Buie

Childhood memorie and family dynamics act as the catalyst for Buie's work. Through the use of layering and textures, Buie creates a visual dialogue, allowing the viewer to understand as well as create their own visual narration, in works that are both ambiguous and complex.

American Indian: American Indians in the American ImaginationTHEATER GALLERY
The Americana Indian: American Indians in the American Imagination
Curated by: Brian Baker

Composed of seven major themes, this exhibition seeks to highlight the powerful cultural and political characteristics of the Americana Indian that pervade and buttress the colective identity of the nation. The installation aims to demonstrate the profileration of conventional representations in popular culture and commerce, while questioning how the images work to convey a limited set of messages about Native peoples.

This exhibition is presented by the WUD Art Committee in cooperation with the American Indian Studies Program, the Department of Art History, American Indian Curriculum Services (School of Education) and Student Diversity Programs (School of Education)
