Catering

Cake Information

Wisconsin Union Catering does not provide wedding cakes. We welcome wedding cakes from outside bakers, and will cut and serve the cake for dessert at no additional charge. Your baker should have the cake delivered to the reception site no earlier than two hours before your guests arrive. (See deliveries.) There is very limited space in our coolers, and a cake left out in a warm room for long periods of time can become soft and collapse. The Wisconsin Union is not responsible for the cake and will not set up the cake.

Any pictures with the cake and the ceremonial cutting should take place before the meal so that we can serve the cake in a timely manner.  The cake will be cut just after the meal is served by the event supervisor. The cake will be cut and place out buffet style for guests. 

We will provide a knife and server for your use. However, many people choose to bring in their own special utensils. Please have your baker provide a complete list of cake parts that should be returned. We'll gladly prepare the parts for you to return to the baker. . All cake parts to be returned should be taken with you at the end of the event.  Any leftover cake and the anniversary cake will be boxed up for you to take with at the end of the night as well. We are not responsible for cake or cake parts left at The Wisconsin Union.
