You are! You don't have to be a film major or super movie-buff to experience WUD Film. The committee is made up of students from a slew of academic backgrounds with many different career aspirations, joined together by one common interest: FILM!
We program a variety of films of different genres around campus. There is a WUD Film Committee program nearly every night of the week! We have five regular series ranging from new releases to avant garde film to international cinema and so on. We are also active with sneak previews and special events. The WUD Film Committee meets weekly to discuss current films and different opportunities to get more involved with film on and off campus. Most importantly, we have a lot of fun together!!!
There are many ways to get involved! We have large group meetings (every Monday of Lakeside Cinema during the summer) where we discuss the latest programming and brainstorm ideas for new programs and special events. Throughout the year there are opportunities to book films, help with regular programming and organize special events. For more information about each of our specialized series, contact the director responsible (email information is provided in the contact section of this website).
Regular committee meetings are on Tuesdays at 6pm, when classes are in session. Check TITU for the room location. Contact the Committee Director (film@union.wisc.edu), for more information.
If you love film and want to get together with other people who share a similar affection for great movies, this is definitely the place to be. Have your say in what we show and where we show it. Take the opportunity to be a part of something both socially engaging and creatively stimulating. There is something for everyone. Whatever type of movies you are into, there is something here at WUD Film for you!!!
