Examples of Projects
Could include a screenplay, film, drama, fiction or documentary reporting, dance, cartoon, play, photography exhibit, painting or sculpture, website, comedy skit, etc. Projects in any subject matter are eligible. Examples of possible projects:
- A film student, assigned to make a documentary as a class project could investigate stem-cell research, thereby learning about the research while providing the stem-cell researchers with a free documentary to help expound the message of their work.
- A student studying landscape architecture works with one of the campus' child care centers to design a natural playground for the children.
The possibilities are endless. They require only two things: the imagination and resourcefulness of the students, and the exposure to the variety and diversity of work and research that is ongoing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The first Hirsch Family Award went to Wisconsin Engineer Video Podcast Documentary of Engineering Expo 2007.
