Microbial Genome Bioinformatics Workshop
The EcoCyc and PortEco projects will present a free workshop on Tuesday Aug 2 from 10AM-3PM in room 2350 of the Microbial Sciences Building. The workshop will focus on resources available for E. coli, but will include topics that extend to other bacterial and phage systems.
PortEco topics will include:
- Searching for information across multiple resources
- Exploring expression data from microarrays and ChIP-chip
- Exploring the phenotypic landscape of E. coli
- Community annotation as a teaching activity
Participants will learn how to get the most out of the EcoCyc and BioCyc web sites and Pathway Tools software. We will cover new content and capabilities, including:
- Cellular and regulatory overviews, and how to use them for analysis of expression data
- Working with object groups and enrichment analysis
The workshop will involve hands-on experience with these and other tools. Due to space constraints, we only have room for 20 participants, so sign up soon!
