Travel Fellowships

The RNA Society has set aside a limited amount of funds for fellowships to support those who otherwise would not be able to attend the meeting for financial reasons.  In most cases the fellowships will be made in the form of reduced or waived registration fees, although it is possible that some contribution toward travel costs could be made in addition or as an alternative to the fee waiver.  Travel reimbursement, if awarded, would be presented in the form of a check from the RNA Society after the close of the conference.

The application deadline for Travel Fellowships is February 19th.  Your request will be reviewed by the conference organizers and decisions will be communicated by email no later than February 23rd.  Registration and abstracts must then be submitted by February 26th.  You will not be eligible to receive a fellowship this year if you have received financial assistance to attend a previous RNA Society conference.  No more than one fellowship per research group will be granted.  If you wish to apply for a fellowship, please send the following information by email to rna@union.wisc.edu:

  1. Name, status (student or faculty), university or institute, department affiliation,
    specific research project(s).
  2. Abstract of work to be presented.
  3. Short paragraph stating reasons for attending RNA 2007.
  4. Anticipated travel expenses.  Please provide as much detail as possible.
  5. Would you prefer that the registration fee be waived, or travel expenses be partially deferred, or both?  Remember that RNA 2007 funds for Travel Fellowships are extremely limited.
  6. Have other members of your research group or department registered for RNA 2007?

Abstract Submission: Monday, February 26, 2007 at 11:59 PM, EST
Lodging Reservations (via registration site): Friday, April 27, 2007
Payments: All charges must be paid in full after Friday, April 27, 2007
