Recreation in The Sett
The scientific name for a badger burrow—The Sett is the center of recreation at Union South. This three-level experience offers food, live music, dancing, bowling, billiards, rock climbing and a place to watch all of your favorite Badger sports.Check out what events are coming up!
The lower level of The Sett is home to recreation at Union South.
Recreation Level Hours:
Monday – Thursday: Noon – Midnight
Friday – Saturday: Noon – 2:00am
Sunday: Noon – 9:00pm
Hours are reduced during the summer and campus breaks.
Bowling
Bowling has returned to its home at Union South. The lower level of The Sett houses an eight-lane bowling center perfect for the casual bowler, league play and group reservations.The bowling center is also where the UW-Madison Bowling Team practices.
Sign up for a Spring 2012 Bowling League today! Fill out this form and submit to the Recreation Counter in The Sett's lower level by the bowling lanes. The first information meeting is scheduled for February 1 at 7pm.
Billiards
The lower level of The Sett features five tournament-size pool tables and other table games.
Climbing Wall
The centerpiece of recreation in The Sett is the two-story climbing wall accompanied by a one-story bouldering wall.
Climbing Wall Hours:
Monday – Friday: Noon – 1:30pm and 5:00pm – 9:30pm
Saturday: 5:00pm – 9:30pm
Sunday: 2:00pm – 7:00pm
Concessions
The recreation level includes a food counter complete with pizza, snacks, beverages and other refreshments.
Lounge
The lounge features a wall constructed of the old basketball court salvaged from the Kohl Center. The area is complete with comfortable seating and a selection of large, flat panel TV's.
