Calling all students who
care about the 2008
Presidential Elections!

… and Homelessness

      … and Global Warming

               … and Violence against Women

                                                   … and Iraq

If you would like to organize creative, thought-provoking, mind-blowing forums, debates, sleepovers, pizza parties, etc. for any and/or all of the issues above (or another, little-known issue that deserves more attention) this is where you belong!!!!

Because we are not all single-issue voters or single-issue thinkers (but if you are, come anyway), this group exists to recognize the interdisciplinary and interconnected nature of political activism, and, of course, to make a difference.

So let’s talk.

Button Up!
WUD Art Committee’s Human Rights Awareness Button Project
February 9—February 14, 2009

In accordance with the week-long programming for the Wisconsin Union Directorate’s Human Rights Awareness Week, the WUD Art Committee will be distributing eye-catching buttons to represent various human rights violations occurring across the world. A total of 5,000 buttons will be handed out around the downtown and University of Wisconsin campus area.

Each button represents something much larger, such as thousands of people living without health insurance, or thousands dying this year from malnutrition. The WUD Art Committee will bring awareness to human rights violations through this widespread, visual campaign. Look for buttons at the Memorial Union and other surrounding locations. Remember to wear your button during Human Rights Awareness Week!
