The Student Performance Committee strives to enhance student involvement in the performing arts at UW as onstage and backstage participants, and as audience members. Student Performance presents in-house performances that all students can participate in. The committee also provides opportunities for new and existing student arts organizations to perform and promote themselves to the campus community.
Jazz Jam is the melting pot of the campus jazz scene, where student musicians can bring their instrument or voice and perform with each other and the house band.
The Annual Marcia Legere Student Play Festival features the winning one-act plays of the annual student playwriting competition, all produced, directed, and acted by UW students. The Fredric March Play Circle serves as host to this and other student dramatic performances.
Amateur poets sling verse with style while the house band gets their groove on at Big Mouth poetry open mics and slams. The Impressions Prize in Poetry and Prose awards the best writers on campus.
From established University ensembles to experimental student projects, Student Performance showcases talented student groups in special performances and resource guides.
