TeraGrid '07

The TeraGrid '07 conference theme is "Broadening Participation in TeraGrid." Attendees will include scientists, engineers, faculty, post docs, graduate and undergraduate students, high school teachers, representatives from federal agencies, grid computing industry representatives, and staff from TeraGrid resource providers and partners.

For those unable to attend, the keynote, invited talks, plenary sessions, and science track papers will be web-cast via CI Channel. You may view the webcasts live at:

Anita Jones

One of the country's preeminent leaders in information
technology, Anita K. Jones, who directed research at the
Department of Defense from 1993-97, managing a budget
of $11 billion, will deliver the keynote speech at TeraGrid '07,
the second annual TeraGrid conference, June 4 - 8 in
Madison, Wisconsin.

Other noted leaders in cyberinfrastructure who will speak include Dr. Daniel E. Atkins, Director of the Office of Cyberinfrastructure, National Science Foundation; Charlie Catlett, who is the Chief Information Officer, University of Chicago, Argonne National Laboratory and also the chair of the TeraGrid Resource Provider Forum; Philip Maechling, who leads earthquake modeling at the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC); Ray Rose of Rose & Smith Associates, who is dedicated to sharing the principles of successful online learning and the innovative use of technology in education settings; Dane Skow, Director of the TeraGrid Grid Infrastructure Group; and Paul Strong of eBay of eBay Research Labs, who directs strategy for eBay's infrastructure and enterprise management.


The conference will highlight scientific results from the use of TeraGrid and will include eight tutorials on TeraGrid resources, such as visualization tools, Science Gateways and Globus middleware. The agenda for the conference is on-line.
