TeraGrid ‘07
"Broadening Participation in TeraGrid”
CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

June 4-8, 2007
University of Wisconsin at Madison
Madison, Wisconsin

Go to http://www.teragrid.org/tg07/submissions/openconf.php to submit a poster, demonstration or BoF. Go to http://teragrid.org/tg07/submissions/students/author/submit.php to enter a student contest.

Everyone is invited to participate! The second annual TeraGrid Conference -- TeraGrid ’07: Broadening Participation in TeraGrid --will offer paper presentations, posters, demonstrations, tutorials, BoF’s and other activities. The conference will also offer an in-depth orientation of its resources and technologies to the broader community for prospective new collaborators.

Attendees will include scientists, engineers, faculty, post docs, graduate and undergraduate students, high school teachers, representatives from federal agencies, grid computing industry representatives, and staff from TeraGrid resource providers and partners.

Submissions for posters, demonstrations and BoF’s are now being accepted. They should address the development of new grid computing capabilities and the application of the TeraGrid to research and education. The program committee is particularly interested in examples of:

  • Scientific impacts that are the result of work on the TeraGrid and with TeraGrid partners.
  • Technology development, capabilities and services.
  • Grid education/training and grids in support of education.
  • Education, outreach and training.

PAPERS
Thank you to everyone who submitted papers for TG07! The paper submission process is now closed. Authors will be notified of acceptance by March 16; final papers for publication are due April 13. Accepted papers will be expected to address reviewer comments for final publication. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. A few papers will be chosen for further review, and will be considered for inclusion in a special section of the Communications of the Association for Computing Machinery (CACM).

POSTERS
Submissions for poster abstracts are being accepted in all areas of relevance to the TeraGrid. Poster sessions will be held during the morning and afternoon breaks during specified days of the conference. Poster deadline is March 30.

DEMONSTRATIONS

Submissions for demonstrations are being accepted in all areas of relevance to the TeraGrid. Demonstrations are intended to be live, interactive presentations of a concept and can be submitted in addition to papers. Demonstration deadline is March 30.

BIRDS-OF-A-FEATHER
Birds-of-a-feather sessions (BoFs) will be scheduled as space and time permit, to provide less structured networking opportunities for participants. Please submit a brief (100-word) abstract that indicates the topic to be discussed, the intended audience, and an estimate of how many people might be expected to attend. BoF deadline is April 12, 2007.

STUDENT COMPETITIONS

  1. The Impact of Cyberinfrastructure on Your World welcomes high school, undergraduate and graduate students to showcase their talents and creativity to convey how cyberinfrastructure will impact the world. Entries are due April 13.
  2. The TeraGrid Student Research Competition invites undergraduate and graduate students to submit posters describing the applications and benefits of grid computing in their research endeavors. Poster abstracts are due April 13.
  3. TeraGrid Advancing Scientific Discovery is an onsite competition that will address scientific discovery and problem solving. Sponsored student teams will be given eight to 12 problems from various scientific domains and will be asked to solve these problems within 24 hours. Teams must register to participate by May 4.

Decisions on acceptance for all three of the student contests will be announced by May 14.
