NEW! Specific trips designed for transfer and for historically underrepresented students.

Wisconsin Basecamp offers canoe camping and backpacking trips for incoming freshmen at UW Madison. Each trip has 10 student participants and 2 student leaders and is five days in length. Trip leaders are current University of Wisconsin students or recent alumni with outdoor leadership experience. Participants don't need any outdoors experience to go; all trips are beginner friendly!

In addition to a Wisconsin wilderness experience, the trips offer students an opportunity to make new friends before starting their freshmen year. This experience integrates personal and social development into the trips through strong leadership and facilitated discussions and activities from staff at the University of Wisconsin.
