About Wisconsin Union Directorate
The Wisconsin Union Directorate is made up of nine committees and Hoofers, which has six clubs. Our committees include Art, Film, Music, Global Connections, Distinguished Lecture Series (DLS), Society and Politics (SoPo), Performing Arts, Alternative Breaks and Publications. Hoofers offers outdoor fun all year round with its six clubs including sailing, scuba, ski & snowboard, riding, outing and mountaineering. There is also a WUD Marketing Team which helps promote all of our committees and Hoofers.
Every year students involved in WUD plan, program and promote hundreds of recreational, art, community service and cultural events on campus. WUD offers students a fun and unforgettable experience with great opportunities for leadership roles and development as well as a great place to make new friends. In weekly meetings and through the various activities, each group focuses on different themes and issues, and offers numerous opportunities to volunteer in the community and on campus.
The student directors of each group lead the teams and create part of the Directorate. These positions are one of the many leadership opportunities that WUD offers. There are also associate director positions and four officer positions. The associate directors hold great responsibility within the committees and the officers form a strong support system for all of the committees.
The four officers; the president, the Vice President for public relations, the VP for leadership and development and the VP for program administration; oversee the nine directors and the Hoofer’s President. These 14 positions make up the full Directorate. The Directorate reports to Union Council, the governing body of the Union, which is composed of students, numerous Union staff members, alumni and faculty representatives.
