We invite all zebrafish principal investigators to participate in the 4th Strategic Conference of Zebrafish Investigators to be held January 29th - February 2nd, 2011 at Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove, California (http://www.visitasilomar.com/.) In keeping with tradition to invite investigators from outside the zebrafish community to provide perspectives and insights from other model systems and stimulate discussion, we are especially pleased to welcome our keynote speaker, Matthew Scott from Stanford University.
The purpose of this biennial meeting is to discuss scientific breakthroughs, emerging technologies, and significant challenges for the future in a stimulating and intimate environment. The meeting is a critical one to strategize for the future of scientific research in the zebrafish model. All attendees present either a talk or poster and participate in workshops and community meetings. We are planning a spectacular closing banquet at the world-renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium.
To facilitate productive interactions and brainstorming, attendance is limited to 200 investigators. We hope to be able to accommodate all registrants, but have set up an application process in case we need to prioritize registration. All applicants must submit a scientific abstract and a brief summary of contributions to the field and planned contributions to the meeting. The application deadline is November 1st, 2010. Registration will open in November, after application review is completed.
